What is the Internal Family Systems model of therapy?

You're probably familiar with inner conversations like "I know I shouldn't eat that chocolate, but part of me really wants it." By their distinct desires, needs and feelings, we have distinct inner parts that enrich our lives as well as sometimes engaging in inner ruckuses that cause us distress.

The Internal Family Systems model takes our inner interactions seriously -- it addresses the array of parts inside us, fosters increased understanding and appreciation of the roles they play, and helps equip the inner Self to become an effective and trusted leader in that interior world.

This site is a place for some of us who are becoming more familiar with that inner society to share our observations about our experiences. We hope it's of benefit to you and all your parts.
